I had some problems with the CAPTCHA I was using, so I installed Akismet to keep my spam comments down. The problem is, it’s telling me that it has protected me from four spam comments but it isn’t showing me what those comments are, and they’re not in the database that I can find. Do they exist? Were they from you? Were they from Joaquin Phoenix? Inquiring minds want to know. If you tried to leave a comment and it didn’t show up, please let me know. My email address is over there on the right, just under the calendar. Thanks!

For me (Wordpress 2.7.1), there’s a link right there at the top of the dashboard. “1 spam” amongst the pending and approved. Spam only sits around for a week or two before being automatically deleted, but the counter itself (2,088 for me) just keeps on counting.
Yeah, but on mine it says 0 spam. I dunno what to think. I mean, they would be the highest numbered and/or the most recently dated comments in the database, right? Unless Akismet zapped them or rejected them completely, but I don’t think it’s built to do that. I’m guessing it’s a hiccup, but if the number keeps going up, I’d hate to think that the one person who chooses to comment on my blog in three months was sent packing.
