Not only that, but there was no big payoff. It was like someone read a book review for The Bridge of San Luis Rey and thought they’d try to make a movie like that and they utterly failed. For all the buildup, it needed something more worthwhile at the conclusion. I found it utterly forgettable. If you want a good movie about weaving character lives together, see Pulp Fiction and leave the “OMG teh rac1st!11!11!!!!” crap to the nuts and flakes in LA.

i like the actors and the acting itself was good.

i am sometimes not able to predict outcomes of things that seem obvious to other people (ie, Addlepated, my husband) so that did not bother me.

it is hard for me to quantify things that i like; it is usually just a gut feeling. that’s kind of how i roll.

Can you quantify why you thought it was really really good?

I found it predictable, silly in its execution, typically hollywood in its process and over-the-top characterizations.

i thought the one with sandra bullock about racism was really really good. the other one i was not nearly brave enough to even find in the video store, much less watch it…

I got poked in the ribs for guessing the victim before they cut to the previous night.

Oh, that movie is Jesse Jackson’s wet dream, made into film.

Yeah, it pretty much sucked.
