Is this thing on?

I had some problems with the CAPTCHA I was using, so I installed Akismet to keep my spam comments down. The problem is, it’s telling me that it has protected me from four spam comments but it isn’t showing me what those comments are, and they’re not in the database that I can find. Do they exist? Were they from you? Were they from Joaquin Phoenix? Inquiring minds want to know. If you tried to leave a comment and it didn’t show up, please let me know. My email address is over there on the right, just under the calendar. Thanks!

Remodel, what?

With absolutely no good reason, forethought, or plan, suddenly I found myself in the midst of a site overhaul this afternoon. My husband says it looks like a lower back tattoo; I think it looks like the Rock Band graphics. Well, the old one was getting a little tired and this one seems to load quicker, plus it’s sexier.

I also moved my portfolio pages from static HTML over to the blog site (and now I’m sort of wishing that the entire website were under the loving care of WordPress and I hadn’t just quarantined it to the /blog directory back when I did the original install of Movable Type back in 2002). I’ve found myself frustrated lately because, while there are things in my life that I would like to chronicle, I would rather not share everything with the whole world. It just occurred to me that I could keep a separate journal. You know, like people did in the olden days. Wow, am I innovative.

I’m playing around with integrating my Twitter stream and my blog. Technically, this plugin should create a daily digest of my tweets and post it here on the blog. It should also take blog posts and Twitter them. Hopefully it doesn’t get caught up in an endless loop.

For those wondering, Twitter is sort of like a microblog that allows easy, small updates that you can access from several sources. It’s a lot faster and easier than posting a blog entry, although you only have a very limited amount of space to say anything, so in-depth stuff is better on an actual blog.

Good Mourning Tree Co. (or Good Mourning Tree Co.) has evolved! Woohoo!

They have gone from littering my house to littering my blog!

Well hey, at least they’re not killing trees for the paper to advertise now. Hyuck hyuck.

I find it amusing that the name in the email address they used three times is the same name that’s in one of their recent favorable Citysearch reviews. Funny how a rash of happy customers started showing up there around October, after multiple one-star reviews previously (except for the guy who admitted he worked there and rated himself tops).

On a side note, if my house is ever vandalized or I get murdered in my sleep or something, please don’t forget about these posts.
