Everyone was totally caught up in the movie.

The gibbering noises that the little critters made was awesomely creepy.

The acting was a little shaky – almost as shaky as the camera work. There were a couple of moments when I cringed and thought, “High school play!” Most of the time it was passable, though.

The way the backstory was spliced into the main story was clever. I missed the reveal at the very end in the Coney Island scene, though.

The special effects were superb and worth the price of admission.

I thought that was a little homage to Blair Witch at the end, with the confessionals.

Interesting how the best character development was with the Hud, the guy on screen for maybe a total of 60 seconds. The writers did a great job with his narration.

Also, Hud’s sacred mission was to document the evening, so it was somewhat plausible that he would keep filming everything. Once he was gone, why did Rob continue to film? That was a plot hole big enough to take me out of the moment, which was a shame because it was going really well at that point. Poor Hud.

I would pay to see this again.

Just got back from Cloverfield. I loved it.
