It took me about 4 hours to read.  I feel a bit gypped when I finish a book that&#8217;s supposed to be one of the best written in years that quickly.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s about a girl who was raped and killed and who narrates the story from heaven.  The first part of the book was very interesting, the second part was long and drawn out with constant, seemingly unrelated, and extraneous scene shifts, and the last part was simply bizarre, as if the author wasn&#8217;t quite sure where to go with the story.<\/p>\n<p>I wouldn&#8217;t recommend buying the book, but you could borrow it from a friend or the library.<\/p>\n<p>The top books that I&#8217;ve read in the last year are still <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0671743058\/qid=1043973882\/sr=1-2\/ref=sr_1_2\/103-6653335-2766269?v=glance&#038;s=books\">Boy&#8217;s Life<\/a>, by Robert McCammon; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0375410341\/qid=1043973957\/sr=1-1\/ref=sr_1_1\/103-6653335-2766269?v=glance&#038;s=books\"><font color=\"blue\">House<\/font> of Leaves<\/a>, by Mark Z. Danielewski; and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/tg\/detail\/-\/0743211375\/qid=1043974112\/sr=1-1\/ref=sr_1_1\/103-6653335-2766269?v=glance&#038;s=books\">From a Buick 8<\/a>, by Stephen King.  Any one of those is worth the purchase price, most especially Boy&#8217;s Life, where the prose is nearly as melodic as Bradbury&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/0553278223\/qid=1043974186\/sr=2-1\/ref=sr_2_1\/103-6653335-2766269\">The Martian Chronicles<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just got through reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.
