There’s too much to worry about when the lights go out. My eyes boing open and my mind races when the light-switch turns. I’ve been dealing with insomnia since I was a kid. It’s been a nightly occurrence pretty much since my first daughter came, 5 years ago. I don’t really have hope of it going away. All I can try to do is lessen the things that I’m awake all night pondering on. In some cases, though, that’s just impossible.

TiVo failed me for the first time ever. Since I wasn’t the one actually to program it, there’s a chance that Hub did something not-right (wouldn’t want to say WRONG, since that would make him mad) when he set up the season pass for Alias. I missed the first 20 minutes of the premiere tonight. If anyone finds it online, please feel free to send it my way.

I’m wondering what will happen if I turn on commenting to everyone. I might give it a try. It’s been so nice to be free of the Lolita spammers for a little while.

You can rent Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

Certain one-way rentals, such as from San Francisco to Honolulu, (or vice versa) are not allowed.

I must have missed the memo.

When my grandmother died she left jewelry to her daughters and granddaughters. I received a couple of cluster emerald pieces that I didn’t really care for, but my aunt really loved, so she offered to buy them from me if I promised I’d take the money and put it into jewelry that I like for myself. Well, that was a couple of years ago, and I’ve been putzing around but never really taken any action. I finally saw a ring that kinda makes my heart go pitty pat, and it’s in my price range.

To be clear, there are many many rings that make my heart go pitty pat, but damn seldom in my price range. I have expensive tastes.

Anyway, I’m seriously pondering. It’s a 1.3 carat yellow diamond center, and .7 carats of white diamonds on the band (plus .04 carats of teeeeeeeeeny little surprise diamonds that pretty much only I will know about, which I just love).

I’m still not sure about it yet. I like the pretty flashy sparkle of white diamonds, I really do – but they just seem kinda cold. I love fancy color diamonds.

See the little baby diamonds set under the center stone? So cute.
