On Boobs

The strangest thing just happened to me. It’s pretty gross, too, so you may want to finish eating first. It’s about my boob, but not in a good way.

For the past couple of months I’ve noticed this blue spot on the side of my boob. It would kind of go away when I pressed on it, so I figured it was some damn sort of varicose vein or something. Tonight I noticed that it was angry looking and that there was a black thing poking out. I got worried that maybe it was a tick or something that died and was in me, and that’s just gross, so I picked and picked until I could pull it out.

It was a stitch. I had breast reduction surgery in 1992. They gave me “dissolving” stitches. This one didn’t dissolve. That means that this damn thing has been in me for ten years, working its way out.

All together now: ewwwwwwwwww.

Yeah, it’s kinda gross to think that there was something hanging out in there for 10 years….but it could have been much much worse!
Glad it’s finally out and no longer there bugging you!

I thought you were going to say it was a hair. I was all set to “spew”.

The stitch is deserving of an “ewww”, but a hair would have earned quite a few more “W”s and possibly bold italicization.

A stitch in ten … a stitch in nine … uhhh … something like that. Yeah.

Did you have it taken out? I hope it’s better now. That must have been something of a shock for you!

I got it out myself. It’s about 1/4″ long with a little loop on one end. My boob is much better now, though – it was pretty achy there for a while.

I’ll be impressed when you pull Lilo outta there too.

Had a stitch like that in an altogether different part of my anatomy. Interesting how surgeons define “dissolving.”

I would so call that doctor and let him know this tidbit of information. Wow. 10 years! Freaky.
