Forgot to mention

About that black widow thing. The day we left, the one in the cow skull on the table outside on the patio had had babies. There were literally hundreds of baby black widow spiders scuttling around in the skull.

And we didn’t just see one scorpion in the house – there was the (giant) one in the bedroom, then a tiny little baby one in the light fixture in one bathroom and another teeny little one in the bathtub in another bathroom. This one was the one who crawled out of the sink overflow on our last visit when hub was washing his face.

Nitey night – oh, and sweet dreams.

still can’t look at the pictures. your words draw up enough imagery to be more than sufficient. 🙂

You’re fricken EVIL because you know the natural curiosity of people. How can something that large get in the pipes? And how the heck is it all getting inside the house? Are windows left open or what? My goodness, what if you actually LIVED in that house on a daily basis? Would you wake up to scorpions in your bed? What’s the point of living in a house to keep that stuff out if it doesn’t? *shudder*

Please tell me it’d be different if you lived there all the time. I’m having nightmares wide awake of one of those things wiggling in the cage and attacking my pet rats. 😛

Bugs can crawl into the tiniest holes. You’d be amazed. The scorpion probably wriggled into the house somehow, went to the sink for a drink of water, then decided to settle into the overflow where it’s cool and dark and damp. He wasn’t actually in the drain, he was in the overflow part where the water goes if you have the drain plugged up and the sink gets too full. The same thing happened to my cousin last year.

But yeah, it would be a lot different if someone lived there on a daily basis. Bugs don’t like commotion, they like peace and quiet. In that respect I am much like a bug, except that I only have 2 legs and I don’t sting people. Just bite.

Jesus Mary and Joseph! Don’t bother ever inviting me to your house, ’cause I’m washing my hair that day/night/week.

Now now, JenBen, this wasn’t at my house, it was at a ranch in south Texas. I’ve never seen a scorpion or black widow in this house, although we were overrun with centipedes earlier this year.

lol, well I’m glad to hear that because to tell you the truth, I’ve always wanted to visit Austin 😉
