Brag

Today’s my five year anniversary of not smoking. I’ve saved over $6000 and not smoked 45,000 cigarettes.

After much debate we’ve decided not to go to the ranch this weekend. I’m pretty bummed about it, because I miss my family a bunch, but I’m still in pain after my surgery last week. On top of that we’ve got the kids not sleeping well and the tummy bug thing. I’m not feeling well at all right now, bleh.

Oh, here’s the quilt I just finished. I have a picture here of the top of the last one I made, before quilting and finishing it. I’m working on a king sized one for our bed now, in this pattern. The colors I’m using are more fall toned though – greens, rusts, browns, turquoise, gold, etc. I’m also making an applique quilt. Right now I’ve gotten the first 2 blocks completely done and am halfway through the third.

Ugh, think it’s time to curl up in bed for about 15 hours.

I have forwarded this to the tobacco growers association of america so that they might know who to blame for their decreasing profits;-)

Congrats on the no smoking thing! You Rock!!!!!

Re: the ranch. Good idea. I rushed it after my surgery and got a post-op infection that really knocked me out. Then the antibiotics they gave me made me sick and I wished I just hadn’t gotten out of bed.

Beautiful quilts. You must be a patient person.

Congratulations on quitting smoking. 🙂 That’s such a hard thing to do. You should be proud of yourself. My 4 year anniversary is coming up November 1.

Your quilts are gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to learn to quilt, but I’m a poor seamstress. Even straigh lines vex me.

I’ve got a problem with straight lines, too! The more I use my machine, the more comfortable I am with it. Believe me when I say that I probably spent more time unsewing those quilts than I spent sewing them – my seam ripper got a lot of use.

I didn’t used to be a patient person, but when presented with children it was a sink or swim proposition. 😉
