You know you’ve been…

You know you’ve been reading too much Sue Grafton when you actually start craving peanut butter and pickle sandwiches. Honestly, they’re pretty good. Get whole-grain wheat bread, and use crunchy peanut butter and bread and butter pickles. They even make the pickles in the sandwich stackers.

We dropped the kids in Houston so we can clean out the garage at the old house. We’re supposed to close a week from today. I’m still sick. Not as bad as I was, but I still manage to sound like death eating a cookie.

We’re still up in the air about flying or driving to Las Vegas next month. Flying scares the crap out of us, but driving will get us into town exhausted (not to mention add 3 or so days onto our trip). Flying will cost us a total of about 10 hours total, and driving will be about 40. Flying will cost more, but driving puts stress on the car. Since we’re closing on the house, we can splurge on first class tickets.

Reading back what I wrote, it seems like I want to fly, doesn’t it?

    1) I hate pickles! I dunno what it is but I’ve never liked them

    2) why are you scared to fly to Vegas? You gotta fly! driving’s a bitch and I’ve flown both inand out of Vegas many times with no problems, other than if you take SW, there is always a HUGE line at the Vegas airport. Oh, also, if you fly, just so you know Vegas airport is the SLOWEST when it comes to getting your bags to you. Waiting 1/2 hour is not uncommon so don’t freak if you can’t find your bags right away.

Yeah, I’ve flown into Las Vegas quite a few times but I haven’t flown anywhere since 9/11 (actually, a year before when we were in NYC almost a year to the day before the attacks). Flying weirds me out in the best of times, like take-two-valium-and-call-me-in-the-morning weirded out.

I flew to Europe 2 months after 9/11 and am still here to tell the tale. I figure they gotta be pretty shitty terrorists to want to take over a dinky SW flight but that’s just me.

I’ve eaten peanut butter and pickle sandwiches all my life, my mom taught me (but it was creamy with regular hamburger dill).
She also ate toasted peanut butter sandwiches instead of toasted cheese.
    Yum!
