That’s more like it…
Riedel Vinum Single Malt Scotch Glasses, Set of 6 (cool, but $70, sheesh)
SanDisk 128 MB Cruzer Data Storage Device
Simply Calphalon Nonstick Anodized 10-Piece Cookware Set (I love our Calphalon cookware, but wish we had more nonstick. If this stuff had the stay-cool handles I’d be all over it.)
Oneida Satin Accent 20-Piece Stainless Steel Flatware Set, Service for 4
West Bend 79586 6-Quart Capacity Electric Wok
All stuff I’m much more likely to buy than a $1000 table saw.
Well, I went and did it. I bought an iPod. Now before you go calling me an Apple flunky, let me explain. I actually did not plan on buying an iPod. I didn’t want one – I thought they were too trendy and/or too expensive. I researched MP3 players for days, trying to see what player to get that 1) had a large capacity, 2) used Firewire and not USB, 3) had a good price, 4) worked on both PC and Mac, and 5) wasn’t too heavy. The only one that met all the criteria was the iPod. The Rio Riot is nice, but USB, which means that it takes about 8 minutes to transfer a CD as opposed to Firewire’s 10 seconds.
Now I don’t have to haul my CDs to the gym, and when we go on our marathon holiday drives (Thanksgiving: 3 hours plus 4 hours plus 3 hours, for example) we don’t have to take a stack of 15 CDs if we want to listen to an audiobook.
After a week of trying, I finally got an account over at Metafilter. They open up 20 slots at noon PST daily, and I could never get in until today.
