Misty watercolor memories…

I just spent the last few hours reading email from 7 years ago. It’s amazing how it brought back the anger and frustration that I experienced at the time.

I used to work for a company and they really dicked me around. The boss was a pothead, and he kept bringing in his pothead family members to help “run” things, and all the employees got badly treated. The only people (in retrospect) who were worth a shit were suddenly and quite unexpectedly fired for various reasons. They told me that I was going to be manager of the new office, then backed out on that. Then they told me I’d be one of the top tier when they incorporated, then backed out on that. The boss used to give me shit about my background and upbringing (when in fact I’m quite sure he was just really really jealous of me) and make me feel like an ass. Scuse me? I can’t help where I came from. But I can help where I’m going, and I thank my lucky stars that I went far, far away from that bunch of losers.

ok, look.

Yeah so now they knock on our door again with a duplicate breakfast, like the 9:00 service was imaginary.

Grumpy

Perhaps my devil may care attitude was premature in regards to the hotel. After room service kept us up until 3 am getting our order wrong about 3 times, we were looking forward to sleeping until our breakfast in bed at 10 am. Which arrived at 9 am. And it’s supposed to be included in our room rate, but they sent up a bill for $56. I think we may go home today.

Troublemakers

Well they may have liked us at this hotel last night, but I don’t think they do anymore. We got upset when we came back to the room at 9pm and saw a maid walking out, but when we got in the room nothing had been cleaned. We got to wondering just what in the hell she was doing in our room if she wasn’t cleaning it, so we called down to the front desk to ask, and they didn’t know, so I went to talk to the manager, and he didn’t know but he sent someone up to clean.

Then I called down asking what package we had because I didn’t have any details on it, and spoke to someone in reservations and she asked me if I remembered the name of the lady who I booked the room with a few weeks ago and I said I didn’t know but that I didn’t think she knew much about what was going on (because it took a good 20 minutes to book a room, most of it on hold while she asked questions of the manager), then the lady on the phone got insulted because she thought it I meant her because her name was on the reservation, but actually it was that my brother had talked to her the other day when he called in to get us an upgrade. So then she transferred us to room service who knew nothing about a package. Oh well, we may or may not get fed tomorrow morning, but you know what? It doesn’t matter, because…

We bought each other new laptops for Valentine’s Day and I love mine. It’s one of those new adorable Apple 12 inch aluminum powerbooks and it’s small and light and cute and beautiful. So to hell with random maids wandering around our hotel doing who knows what, and to hell with room service mixing up my eggs benedict order – I have a new toy, and they can’t take that away from me!

Poor Featureprice

They just picked the wrong person to mess with. I have 39 pages of logs, webpages, emails, trouble tickets, and receipts, all fully annotated, ready to send off to American Express. I’m going to take them to Kinko’s tomorrow and copy them all just in case the Florida AG’s office wants them.

Silly old Featureprice

Feature price

Background Running ProgramsWe may allow programs to run continually in the background. In most cases Featureprice prefers not to impose any extra charges on the customers.

So that’s where they buried Frank Sinatra!

Stuff part II: The Revenge

Today I would like to explain to you the proper usage of a word. The word is pique. As in “to pique one’s interest”. If your interest is peaked, that means either that it comes to a little point on the top, or (if you’re using the two syllable pronounciation of the word) that it isn’t looking very well.

Now that’s out of the way, I’d like to tell you about what happened while we were out of town. On Monday the lady who cleans our house came. She made up the bed in the three-year-old’s room, which basically consists of putting the quilt straight on the bed. Then we took the baby to Houston, where her sister was already, and then hub and I skipped town on Tuesday. Which is all a long and drawn out way of saying that nobody had been in the room since it was cleaned up, except me to peek in there briefly and make sure nothing was out of place.

When I went in there today to look for a coat, I noticed that the quilt was messed up. It looked just like a cat had tunneled under it, laid there a bit, then snuck out.

Speaking of cats, Lilly’s bloodwork looks better today, and they think she might not have cancer after all, but rather pancreatitis. Keep your fingers crossed!

And

We have a mouse. It was in the stove. Hub chased it out and it ran into the cabinet. I opened the cabinet doors in hopes that the girl kitties will hunt it down. I don’t have much hope for that happening, though.

Oh yeah, and my boob’s trying to get infected again. I’m thinking about stopping posting until I have something positive to say.
